My priorities

Protecting our environment

I have more than 25 years of experience working in ocean and land conservation.

As Executive Director of Laguna Canyon Foundation, I was a crucial leader in open space acquisitions, habitat restoration efforts, and trail management.

I successfully brought the mountain bike and environmental communities together to protect Laguna Beach's shared resources.

I prioritized the effort to improve the CalTrans-proposed widening of Laguna Canyon Road, ensured that the Hidden Valley development in Laguna Canyon would not be visible from Laguna Canyon Road, and was a key member of the Laguna Canyon Road task force.

If elected, I would prioritize City acquisition of the remaining acres of open space, advocate for active management of our greenbelt to minimize fire risk and restore habitat, and work to maintain and revitalize our world-famous network of hiking and biking trails. I support the Climate Action Plan and will focus on building sustainability and climate resiliency throughout the City.

Smart development

As an environmental leader, I have earned a reputation as a proponent of smart development: development projects that align with our community values and support residents' quality of life for longtime and new residents.

As the City faces increasing pressure to provide affordable housing, I will advocate for housing solutions that contribute to the character of our town: building diversity, energizing our downtown, and supporting a pedestrian and bike-friendly community.

My grandparents owned a small business in Laguna, a store called Townsends on Pacific Coast Highway and Thalia Street, so from a young age, I have understood firsthand how vital small businesses are to a thriving community. Streamlining permitting and supporting small, locally-owned businesses will lead to a rich, vibrant community and a healthy economy.

Our community

As a Laguna Beach native and (almost) lifelong community member, I know our town, and want to protect the things that make it unique.

I understand the risk of catastrophic wildfire from personal experience. I was a Laguna Beach High School student during Laguna Beach's devastating 1993 fires; my home on Canyon Acres Drive burned to the ground.

As the daughter of local artists, I am passionate about supporting our arts community through creative live/-work solutions that align with our town's character. As a Laguna Beach City Council member, I will focus on protecting and improving the quality of life for all residents while managing the visitors who help support and provide a much-needed boost to our economy.
